Brief History

In the 1990’s Jeff Gehrmann started a bush band in Gosford on the Central Coast of NSW named The Lantana Brothers. Dave Jackson apparently recommended the name. Jeff sang, called the dances and played the piano accordion. Dave played guitar, Mark Stringfellow was on bass and Bob Oliver was  on banjo. Bob still leads the Lantana Brothers. In about 1989 Ian Crook took over from Jeff as the caller, provided  vocals and played the largerphone. In Easter 1998 Ian started Fair Dinkum after experimenting with a few different names and lineup members. The line up was the same for ten years.  There are new often faces in the line up and for 2018-2019  may vary as good musicians have other commitments in other bands. Fair Dinkum now has a repertoire of well over 130 dances.
